Since October 13, 2024, the infamous boat "Deep Thought" had been stranded near Milwaukee’s Bradford Beach, becoming an iconic shoreline landmark for months.

Sail boats on Crystal Lake in Crystal Lake, Illinois is an image I made on film in 1997. I set out that morning to gather images to improve my mediocre portfolio in order to get a photojournalism internship. This image helped as a few months later I would get an internship at The Post Crescent in Appleton, WI.
